Shelby`s in Orinda

Had a lovely salad with very fresh shrimp and an excellent Bloody Mary. However, I went in with friends on A VERY hot day and there was no AC on inside and no fan, and the owner was reluctant to turn on the climate control. My friend had to ask for it to be turned on. It was much more comfortable afterwards, but on a 90+ degree day with no breeze, AC is a necessity! We ended up having a nice lunch, but goodness... With ovens blazing in such heat, AC should be a no-brainer. I'm not even a fan of the cold, it was just such a hot day, even I was a little shocked. But the food is consistently good, as are the cocktails, so I'll go back for sure.

Love this place. Sit outside in the sun, drink a beer and eat Weiner Schnitzel.

Great selection of food. Everything the 4 of us had was great. Prices were reasonable and the owner was good at recommending items. Will return.

Ate the "Vegetarian" Caesar Salad TWICE because of the "vegetarian label"- so I thought I had finally found a Caesar dressing without anchovies. Called in today, turns out I ate anchovies twice. I want to throw up. I'm vegetarian whole-heartedly and them tricking me makes me sick. Do NOT be fooled, vegetarians!!!

The staff is very nice and sweet when you arrive the food was good and very nice restaurant to mention.

Well, this place is nice enough and a good brunch spot. But I'm vegetarian. The options for someone who doesn't eat meat are severly limited.

Great food and dog friendly, a combination that can't be beat.

The staff are great - warmhearted, friendly and caring! And the food is delicious and served with a splash. You cannot go wrong and you will love your dining experience!

We really have come to live Shelby's. It's menu is new every week with a few favorites that continue such as my favs pasta arriabiata and Chinese chicken salad. The wait staff is authentically caring and get to know you. Sitting outside on a warm evening with a glass of their wines is a real summer pleasure. We come weekly with our teenagers.

The Mgr/Owner tried to up the amount of our order by 40 more sandwiches. Didn't receive a quote until after 9pm the night before. Tryed calling all morning. Went over at 10:15 and had to wait for him to come in. Yelled and cussed at my co-worker saying we were wrong and he would rather give the food away then have us buy it. We've spend a lot of money at this place for over 7 years with our company lunches. We will never go again and spreading the word on how they treated us.

Salads are excellent- service was top notch.

Didn't dig that there was a dog rooming around near the kitchen (yes! indoors) maybe leaving their pet at home is an option but I'm also put off and didn't expect animals inside. "Pet allergies might not be as serious as the Corona virus but it's still very much a real thing"!

I would like to try their new menu! I just wish that they would open up earlier in the mornings on the weekends!By the time that they open I'm not thinking about breakfast, I'm thinking about lunch at another place.

Been here a few times and it's always a disappointment. The food is just OK, the servers are running their tails off but the place is super disorganized. Food took over an hour to be served today and almost that long the last time. Conclusion: meh.
